hahahahaha...I have never heard a Darwinian approach to racing quite like that! I agree, Nomex is probably the single worst invention ever, right behind the HANS device of course!

I must say, I admire your devotion to the sport. While I agree that many "pro" drivers would get absolutely waxed if they entered an event like the IKWC, I think its foolish to think that indoor karting will ever be a professional level sport. I do however think that an increased level of professionalISM is what the sport should aim to achieve...that is where the IKWC and other events come in. Ultimately the great young talent will move up to outdoor karting, sprint cars, open wheel ect, and those past their racing prime will continue as a hobbyist.

I think we all agree that indoor karting is a great way to breed fundamental talents, but I don't think you will ever be able to say that the best indoor karter in the world is a better driver than an IRL mid-packer....its apples and oranges.

this is getting exciting for sure...Mike will be great to hang out again as always and see Tony and meet your new recruits. Adam and Chad based on your posts you guys will definitely be adding great charisma and enthusiasm to this years USIKC and look forward to meeting you guys Thursday night as well.

Rob what happened in Toronto...didn't see you in the top finishers section of the race update...just giving yah some pre-USIKC trash talking Laughing

Jeff if I end up staying at the Best Western I will definitely give you rides to the track...unless you are beating me in which case I may not give you rides back to the hotel...but thats negotiable of course Wink

Unfortunately I am only arriving Thursday night, late at that Sad no practice for me...but who needs practice right? only kidding on that one...btw I do have it on good word that there are a few more folks coming to this event from the east coast so stay tuned.

Thats all from me, once I firm up the hotel I'll post again.

Would love to mooch a ride to the track and back from the hotel, if anyone is offering. That's about all. Yeah gotta love hard nosed competition. I'm totally looking forward to talking to ya Diego.

Mr. Brad. You putting some cash up for the cash pot? I think taking your money would make my nipples hard. Laughing Nomex eh? I think you missed the point entirely. Grab your helmet, and put the gloves on holmes. It's mono-e-mono time!

Thanks Diego I appreciate the ride offer. Are you planning on getting your own room or would you like to split the expenses of the one I have reserved? I will let you know I will not be there much. If you are considering it I can put your name on the rservation so you can just check in. Only $125 for all 3 days.

In this case, there are a number of promising young drivers coming to one national event, and many are capable of outclassing some of the most famous race car drivers out there if given the chance.

Ummm, wouldn't they instantly get outclassed by the pros upon entering the first corner at speed in a machine they never had any seat time in, if given the chance??? Or are you talking about after the prerequisite years of practice funded to the tune of several hundreds of thousands of dollars while the pros sit around idly waiting for the conscripts to make progress...

Racing is about practice, results, and money (not necessarily in that order), not riding on the wings of wishes. Racing seems to be a very Republican concept, lol.

I just wanted to put a word out wishing everyone the best of luck! Hope everyone races this event with the courtesy and sportmanship. Let's not have any issues on or off the track. Race each other like YOU want to be raced. 94 hours and counting.

See you at the track!

Again,
Best of luck to everyone I will be aiming for the top spot this year.

Jeff

Hey Jeff, I agree wholeheartedly on the conduct at the track...I have a feeling with this group it will be fair and fun...thats my gut. Sorry I never got back to you about the hotel thing, I will be staying with my father so I'll pass on the sharing of the expense by thanks and the ride is still a possibility, just need to finalize a hotel (yeah I know its getting late...better get on it).

Funny thing this aiming for the top perch of the podium...if I am doing the same thing and plan on getting their a tad bit earlier than you then I am afraid its only the next 41 perches that are available for grabs at the moment...hehe

Diego - I tell you what the funny thing is. I went to see a psycic this morning, and the first thing she said is that she sees me standings tall and proud above other people in some sort of event that deals with go kart racing! So according to the moon and starts I have already won the event so you better shoot for the next notch at the podium. She said that spot is still open. Laughing

No problem on the hotel, I'm just trying to help fellow racers out with expenses so if anyone else still needs a place to stay or decides to change locations the room is still up for grabs $125 for Tursday through Sunday. Best deal in town unless you have family/friends there.

See you at the track!
