I was gonna throw GPNY out there as a possibility as well...this will be the only time you beat me in anything skolnick so enjoy!!
Why hasn't anybody thrown F1 Boston out there as an option? Seems to me that it has the reputation as a top level facility? Ive never been to either, maybe someone who has can give some input? _________________ www.calspeedkarting.com

just in from gpny Hello Adam,
We would be interested in discussing an opportunity to hold an event. Who is the main contact who can organize such a relationship with us?

| Someone would have to take the lead to get this going. Only suggestions I have that in the discussions to see if they would honor previous years prizes of free entries for the event. The top 3 drivers last year won free entries to the event. Also, if a new location is chosen ensure the race facility has competeive karts not karts that 2 and 3 seconds diffent a lap. Sky Kart sounds like a good option to me with the new karts. Do they have a weight system? I'm up for anywhere though. I just want it to be a competition based on skill and not kart discrepancy and luck of the draw. |

When discussing this the norm for races would be 2 - 30 minute heats , 2- 1 hour heats, and for top 15-25 a 1.5 hour main with changes to the track (reverse, forward , or change). If something is set up I would shoot for October-early November timeframe to give people time to prepare. you dont want it around Thanksgiving or December because of Christmas everyone might be short on funds. We would have to get the word out just by word of mouth and forums like this, and hope for the best. I'm thinking there would be no more than 40 entries.
Last year we paid $350 for the event, I would suggest to try to get the entry lower but still high enough for good top 3 awards. |

Right Brad...
Someone tell me whats reqired and I will talk with GPNY. I race leauge there so Im there often and can take lead for our group of karters here gettting it going. They have a weight bracket system on the side of the kart so thats not a problem. There is a possiblity of 6 track configs. Each track forwards and backwords and the half mile track (combined tracks both directions)
Let me knOW
Zack
ps: GPNY is close to NY City so it might be a worthwhile trip. _________________ Finishline Racegear Karting Team www.finishlineracegear.com

| Zack I would talk to Tom while you are there with him. He assisted with setting the last USIKC. He would probably give some good advice. |

i've talked with luke (our GM here at sykart) and we agree that sykart in tigard would not be capable of hosting this event without a major rules revamp. besides the lack of karts, our track simply cannot handle 20 drivers in one race. after the OIKC event we're thinking that the max for a single weight class or run group, including a pit stop, should be no higher than 12-14 drivers.
we might have some interest in holding a similar event in tukwila, but we would have to talk with the organizers and look at the numbers to see if it is even feasible. tukwila is a much larger track and could possibly hold 15-20 drivers.
i appreciate you guys thinking of us and promoting our facilities, but i wouldn't hold out much hope for a usikc or equivalent event any time soon in the northwest. |

my money is on GPNY....
Near NY City, 2 track configurations that can be combined, Newer style Sodi Karts.
Only bummer is that they are running the 6.5hp GX200 engines....
But if they have the ability to ballast in a proper manner then that shouldn't be too bad.... _________________ www.calspeedkarting.com

Brad- The 6.5s are plenty of power for the track. _________________ Finishline Racegear Karting Team www.finishlineracegear.com
